Utopia Bagels in Whitestone

I went to Utopia fron New Jersey after looking at the recommendation from Grub and some other dependable sources. I am not a big fan of bagels, but if I have to eat bagels I would again take a two hr ride to Utopia. I tried everything bagel and seasame bagel. They were the best I have ever had, then packed a dozen for later. The staff is cheerful, and the owner is very warm. They make the bagels literally in front of you. It's totally worth a visit.

Wait times are out of control. They have so many employees yet only two working counter. Takes 30 minutes to order a bagel. The bagels are good but NOT worth a 20-30 minute wait. I cannot imagine they will be in business when this situation has gotten significantly worse over the last three months. It doesnt seem they care either. Well, when i see a line out the door, i just go elsewhere to another bagel spot. Hopefully they fix this but its gotten worse so i doubt itll get better. They will use the 'new normal' as an excuse for this

They had a expo on tv about their bagels so i went there. NO BIG DEAL. bagel brother's in brooklyn has the best bagels. And I'm from queens😝

Awesome place to get early breakfast. Always busy! But the line goes fast. Highly recommend! chicken griller on cinemmon bagel and egg bagel with scallion cream cheese

22 minutes to get a bagel, there was more butter on the wrapper than in the bagel. Never had such a bad experience at utopia before

Great bagels and sandwiches!!!! Opens 4:15am which is also great but you will still have people waiting for those doors to unlock, me as well. I do here the lines get pretty long when the rest of the world gets up. Make it your morning breakfast stop and grab a sandwich for later.

Good but SO inefficient. Budget 30 minutes for any visit. No joke.

Overall very good bagels. I would be happy to come here on the weekends to enjoy their bagels. 1 star is deducted due to the long lines on the weekend. Seems like they have a lot of staff walking around in the back, but no one managing to ensure customers are being helped in a timely manner. The place is clean and bright, but got to work on taking care of the customers waiting on the long lines.

Had to get mini bagels for daughters daycare. The line was almost out the door... they’re that good. When it was my turn, they didn’t have enough mini bagels ready but the gentleman nicely told me they could have another batch which would be ready soon. Will definitely go back.

I was there todayIt's like they were unprepared , in that, their bagel assortment was 70 % empty. They only had the basic variety's and NO special bagels, like the veggie or proscuito or Asiago as a example.

I remember the lines out the door in their old small bagel shop. Now the line is still out the door, the service is quick and courteous and there is plenty of room to sit and relax. I recommend you try the best bagels in NY and NJ.

I don't normally write reviews. First of all their bagels are great. Just make sure you check your receipt carefully because the staffs there are so busy sometimes they make mistakes and charge you for stuff you didn't get.

Great array of creme cheese. It’s amazing actually. Lines are huge as typical when you have a good product. Try to get there in the Am when bagels are mostly fresh out. We are spoiled. Def a great pick. Enjoy !

The bagels are always fresh, delicious and of high quality. The staff is always there to provide with great service and the prices are very fair.

Love this place. I have to come up here and get my nova lox on an everything bagel everytime I come to NYC to visit my in-laws. It's a nice little walk down the block, the food is delish and the staff is great (regardless of how busy they are). I'm so glad I "discovered" this place :]

Like it pretty good taste and you want to order, it take time to pack it up for you make it look nice .....For 2 bottle of soda 4 Sesame bagel with cream cheese.Lucky that I have a bagel from the house！$14.45 and $1 for the hard worker.....Well done!

How come half of them who are working there is not wearing mask and using same gloves between handling money and bagel. Especially during this covid 19, I really dont get this.. I would not recommend and I would never come back again.

My favorite New York City stop for fresh Bagels. No preservatives and the place is packed but ALWAYS worth the wait. One of the last places that I know that still make their bagels fresh daily and they taste amazing! Definitely a hidden Gem.

This is a great spot for bagels. I see why Buzzfeed chose this location as a winning spot for food. The bagels are soft and flavorful. There are many flavors to choose from and the sandwiches are served thick with fillings. The lox bagel sandwich is definitely a must try with a side of macaroni salad.

Awesome bagels. Stores with long lines are always a good indicator that there is something special worth waiting for. Though I wish they'd figure out a way to move the line faster there are always 10-15 people working extra hard to keep everyone happy. I have been here many times and will continue to return, I recommend you try Utopia bagels for yourself.

Utopia Bagels has been on my bucket list for months due to the great reviews on yelp. We were impressed by their French Toast Bagels and so curious about what the taste and texture is. The exterior decor is really simple and humble but you won’t miss it since there is always a line outside. The wait wasn’t bad and the staff served everyone quickly. There was a great variety of options of bagels, cream cheese spreads, smoked salmon and desserts. We had a difficult time making choices and ended up getting 8 bagels (4 kinds: French toast, Blueberry, Onion and Garlic) and 3 spreads (Tofu scallion, Blueberry and Oreo). Their bagels were amazingly delicious with chewy texture especially the French Toast bagel. The spreads were also great and our favorite was the Oreo and it matched with the French Toast bagel greatly. We definitely will visit again and try different options like sandwiches or waffles shortly.

Really good bagels. Top notch. I haven't gotten anything else from them though. Went there on a Sunday morning, there were about 20 people ahead of me but the wait was not long at all. Good amount of servers behind counter and they were very efficient and pleasant.

There's a parking lot in the back! There was a short line when I got there and it only grew longer. They should really try to make a more efficient line for ordering and for picking up because people just stand near the cashier after they order. I love that they have so many options! Jalapeno cheddar bagel with lox and cream cheese! Plenty of tables inside to sit down.

Never a bad sandwich in the 3 yrs my partner and I have been going here. Make sure you order in the store cuz they will not take it over the phone...trust me I tried.

Such quick service despite how incredibly busy they were. The sandwich I got was great and the man who served me was friendly and helpful. They had so many selections for sandwiches, bagels and cream cheeses. Everything looked fresh and smelled delicious.

This bagel spot sure is busy. People phone in their orders just to skip the lines. Otherwise, go in person and you'll find two lines, one I presume is for the bagels and hot food, the other, I'm thinking phone orders and bakery items. However, after asking others in the line, it seems you can order anything as long as there is availability. The variety of bagels here are indeed special and unique. I tried the Prosciutto bagel this visit. Grabbed a few mini bagels and flat bagels to go. Also ordered a few egg platters to go as well. Those were ok, nothing special -- fills the bill. The best thing here are the bagels and the service! Each counter person works with you until you're done with your order, this ensures nothing gets left behind.

Is a good place for breakfast. They have a really good bagels with good flavor. Every bagel is like a big and huge sandwich and super natural. I really like it.
